SPECIALIST EXPERIENCE
With over 20 years of experience in international broadcast media, our expertise spans development, production, distribution, business affairs, and the licensing of thousands of hours of content to networks and platforms worldwide.
We have advised on policy and business initiatives and have successfully built and launched global media properties, providing strategic guidance from creative production to international distribution. Our work reflects our unique combination of creative and business skills, tailored to the needs of the global content market:

International Distribution:
We have successfully guided various companies in their international distribution efforts, including Tortuga Films (2018-2020), an indie Quebec-based documentary producer, to launch their international distribution arm, developing and facilitating a custom training plan covering staff training, brand marketing, international festival participation, acquisitions, and sales strategies. We also consulted with ASD (2018-2021), a Canadian-based Indigenous distributor and affiliate of APTN, helping to facilitate the launch of the company and overseeing its growth into a successful enterprise. This included acquiring 500 hours of content to build their program catalogue, expanding partnerships into global markets, and managing staff training, marketing, and licensing. Our expertise in international distribution further extends to roles such as co-owner of international distributor re:think Entertainment (2003-2013) and VP of International acquisitions and co-productions at blue-chip factual distributor LGI Media (2014-2016), giving us comprehensive insight and extensive experience in this specialized area of international media.
Industry Engagement:
We are actively involved in shaping the industry through various roles and initiatives. We served on the board of CACE Canada (the Canadian Association of Content Exporters) from 2022 to 2024, helping to shape a policy proposal to the government for an export program to support Canadian-based international distributors. This proposal highlighted the need to build a self-sustaining system that reinvests in Canadian business, providing a steady ROI for funders and investors to keep Cancon in Canada. Additionally, we have been active members of Women in Film and Television (WIFT) since 2016 and have been selected to judge the prestigious international Realscreen Awards for two consecutive years, underscoring our expertise in the field of global content.

Training and Workshops:
We are dedicated to sharing our expertise and fostering success in others. Our industry training for producers and creatives provides a comprehensive understanding of the business side of the industry, enabling them to leverage opportunities in the global content market. We have facilitated workshops and sessions at prominent markets and festivals, including the Whistler Film Festival, All Access, DOC BC/YT/NT, ImagineNative, the Indigenous Film Summit, and the OYA Black Arts Coalition. In 2025 we designed and facilitated a custom 8 week program (The Creative Edge: Understanding the Business of Film & TV) for NITV in association with the CMF Changing Narratives program, and we occasionally conduct individual training sessions, providing tailored guidance to meet specific needs.
Creative Collaborations:
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We are passionate creatives who thrive on working with like-minded individuals to create content that connects with a global audience. We have successfully produced content that has been licensed to major international broadcasters, including Discovery International, Netflix, Animal Planet, Nickelodeon, Disney XD, and Amazon Prime. We’ve worked on both scripted and factual projects to secure co-production and broadcast partners, including The Untold Tales of Tuteremoana (2023), an award-winning dramatic fantasy series from New Zealand comprised of three tribal stories of the ancient Ngāi Tara people and featuring some of New Zealand’s top Māori talent, and Ghost Hunters of the Grand River (2022), a paranormal doc series from Canada now in its fifth season.

Our tagline, ‘Mpowered content,’ reflects our company ethos of sharing stories that elevate and inspire, and our belief that the transformational art of storytelling can evoke powerful positive change. Our core values of integrity and fair collaboration extend to every project we engage in. We work on curated projects across different genres and styles. Each one shares the common theme of being high-impact and innovative, underscoring our dedication to bold storytelling for a global audience.
